Step 1

For preparing tasty sponge cake, preheat the oven at 180 degrees celsius.

Step 2

Grease a tin and dust it with flour.

Step 3

Cover the base of the tin with flaked almonds.

Step 4

Whip the egg yolks with 110 grams of sugar and inside of the vanilla pod.

Step 5

Mix in the butter, maida and corn flour. Whip it well.

Step 6

Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt and beat it till stiff.

Step 7

Add in the rest of the sugar and beat well.

Step 8

Fold the egg whites slowly into the yolk mixture.

Step 9

Put the mixture into the tin and bake it for 30 minutes.

Step 10

Leave it out on a rack to cool, turn it over and cut it.

Step 11

Tasty sponge cake is ready. Serve with tea.
