  • For preparing tasty sponge cake, preheat the oven at 180 degrees celsius.
  • Grease a tin and dust it with flour.
  • Cover the base of the tin with flaked almonds.
  • Whip the egg yolks with 110 grams of sugar and inside of the vanilla pod.
  • Mix in the butter, maida and corn flour. Whip it well.
  • Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt and beat it till stiff.
  • Add in the rest of the sugar and beat well.
  • Fold the egg whites slowly into the yolk mixture.
  • Put the mixture into the tin and bake it for 30 minutes.
  • Leave it out on a rack to cool, turn it over and cut it.
  • Tasty sponge cake is ready. Serve with tea.
