Butea Frondosa
Its flowers are useful in treatment of disorders of liver. Its seeds has bactericidal, anthelmintic & fungicidal properties. Its leaves are believed to have astringent, depurative, diuretic and aphrodisiac properties.
In India, the young leaves are good fodder. The fibre obtained from the tree is made into ropes. The gum from the tree, called Kamarkas, is used in certain food dishes. The gum obtained is valuable for its astringent qualities.
