 Curry leaves used in South India as a natural flavouring agent in various curries. Volatile oil finds application as a fixative for soap perfume.

      this is fascinating. ‘narasingha’ [नारसिंह narasiṁha], one of the names of vishnu, means ‘man-lion’ in sanskrit. is the curry tree considered sacred to the god narasingha, as tulasi is to kṛṣṇa?
