Used in treatment of skin diseases, indigestion, colic, dysentery, enlarged spleen, respiratory diseases, mouth and stomach cancer. Possesses anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties.

Dietary fibre, sodium, iron, vitamin A, C. it also has some phyto-chemicals

CULINERY AND OTHER VALUES :
Young rhizome is used as spice to flavor various dishes in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and China.
