Salvia Officinalis

MEDICINAL VALUE :
Medically, sage finds application as a mild tonic, astringent, carminative, diaphoretic, anti-pyretic and anti-oxidant properties.

NUTRIENT VALUE :
contain volatile oils, flavanoids, dietary fiber, low cholestrol, rich in vitamin A, and minerals like calcium, iron, potassium etc.

CULINERY AND OTHER VALUES :
Sage finds application in culinary preparation in the West. Used for flavouring fish, meat dishes etc. Fresh sage used in salads and sandwiches. Sage oil finds application in perfumes and as deodorant.
