Adai Dosa is a delicious protein rich pancake from the South Indian cuisine. The adai recipe shared here is a basic recipe which is usually prepared. Each household has their own proportions and the types of lentils they use. Also the spices and seasonings added can vary from family to family. So there are many variations possible and various greens or veggies can be added in this to make it more healthy and nutritious. it is a healthy and protein packed dish which can be enjoyed for morning breakfast with coconut chutney. unlike the traditional dosa recipes which are thicker and prepared with rice and urad dal, adai dosa is thick and heavier with rice and combination of lentils with spices.
Wash it again and grind it along with chopped pearl onion, grated coconut, cumin seeds, red chilly and asafoetida.
Make a paste of these items after mixing required water and required quantity of salt.
Heat a non-stick pan/dosa pan and apply some oil in it. Put one big spoon of the above paste, spread it and apply some oil(gingelly/refined oil) or ghee. When it is cooked well, remove from pan.
Please note that it will be very tasty if we make the dosas using fresh ground mix. This can be served with coconut/onion/tomato chutney or pickles. This is a tasty break-fast/dinner dish for adults and children as well.
