Akki Roti - Karnataka Style

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Rice powder
  • 2 nos Onions finely chopped, medium size
  • 4-5 nos Green chillies
  • 1 no Carrot grated
  • 1 no Capsicum cut into small pieces
  • 4-5 nos Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp Channa dal
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera
  • 1 tbsp Urad dal
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as reqd

Instructions
 

  • Mix finely chopped onions, coriander leaves, curry leaves and green chillies, capsicum and grated carrot in a bowl.
  • Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan add fry mustard seeds jeera, channadal and urad dal. 3)Add the above to the rice powder with salt and mix with water to make a dough.
  • Add oil to this in order to avoid getting stuck to the hands.
  • Apply oil on a polythene paper or take a piece of cloth.
  • Make balls of the rice mix and spread one on the paper with your hand in the shape of rotis.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Put the roti in it and cook with oil on both the sides.
  • Repeat the procedure for the remaining dough.
  • :- Serve with coconut chutney and yoghurt.
