Alisa-Aleesa is serves as a starter dish of marriage ceremonies in north kerala region.It is prepared by cooking whole husked wheat with coconutmilk and seasoned with fried onion,cashew nuts and raisins.Usually we prepare aleesa in a non-veg version,but here we have prepared with vegetarian version.
Take a pressure cooker,add wheat,shallots,pepper corn,cardamom,cinnaon stick,salt and water as required.cook for 1 hour or unti it become well cooked.
When the wheat is well cooked add thick coconutmilk,check the consistency and pour more coconutmilk if required.Bring it to boil and remove from the flame.
Heat ghee in a pan and fry onion until golden brown in colour and add cashew nuts,raisins and fry for 1 minute.
Transfer it into a serving plate and pour little ghee fried onion and cashew nuts over it.
