Aval ada is a traditional snack in malabar region.It is made pf flattened rice,coconut,jaggery which is layered inside the rice paste in banana leaf and steamed in a steamer and deep fry in hot oil for a different taste.we can serve it as a evening snack
Add grated coconut into the melted jaggery and cook for few seconds.
Add aval and mix well.remove from the flame and keep it aside.
Now the filling is ready.
Mix rice flour with salt and enough water.knead into a dough.place lemon sized dough in the center of the banana leaf,glatten it with finger and spread the filling on it.fold the leaf in half and steam cook it for 20-25 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and fry the cooked adas until light brown in colour and serve it with a cup of hot tea.
