Avalakki Vaggarane Dish made with Rice flakes (Aval or Poha) 2 cups Rice flakes (Aval/Poha)1/2 no OnionSalt (As reqd)1 tsp Sugar2 tbsp Oil3 tbsp Freshly grated coconutLemon juice (A little)1 tbsp Chopped coriander leavesFor seasoning:1 tsp Mustard seeds1 tsp Black gram (Uzhunnuparippu)2 tbsp Peanuts (Nelakadala)3 nos Cut Green Chillies1/2 tsp Turmeric powderCurry leaves (A few) Take thick poha, wash it twice (like rice)and drain water. Add about 3/4 cup of water to soak and keep aside for 10-15 minutes. After soaking, poha will become soft and dry. Add sugar and salt and set aside. Heat oil in a pan.Add the ingredients for seasoning.Add cut onions and fry till it becomes soft. Add poha to it and mix well. Finally, add grated coconut and squeeze a little bit of lemon juice on it. Mix well. 9)Keep till poha gets warm.Garnish with coriander leaves. Goa
