Ayala Mulakittathu | Mackerel Red Fish Curry With Raw Mango

A

Ayala Mulakittathu with raw mango is a hot and spicy traditional styled fish curry very popular in Kerala Cuisine. The main ingredient in this curry is red chilly powder which gives the intense red spicy taste and flavor. Different regions in Kerala have their own versions but this version is unique and special using raw mango for the tangy flavor instead of kudampuli or gamboge. You will love this tangy flavored spicy fish curry that goes well with boiled rice. Ayala Mulakittathu is made out of Indian Mackerel fish and it is one of the most tastiest of fishes, popular in the North as Bangda. Mackerel Red Fish Curry With Raw Mango is a traditional styled authentic dish very tasty and healthy as well. Mackerel is a very healthy fish loaded with nutrients such as omega 3 and vitamin E. Encourage your little ones to consume the fish because i strongly believe that childhood attitudes will continue to the rest of your life.  So try encouraging your kids to stay away from junk food that will steal their health.

To enjoy the traditional flavor, Mackerel Red Fish Curry With Raw Mango should be cooked in nadan clay pots that brings out the best of flavors. Clay pots bring out awesome tastes and texture. I usually cook nadan Ayala Mulakittathu with lots of Gamboge or ‘Kudampuli’ and serve with hot ‘Kappa’. However i have prepared the Ayala Mulakittathu dish here with raw mangoes that tastes equally fantastic. Keralites i believe are madly in love with this kappa – meen combination. This is a signature dish of Kerala enjoyed by all classes of people, both rich and poor. Tapioca is very economical and is widely cultivated in Kerala. During hot summers, mangoes grow in plenty. You can discover a well detailed Ayala Curry here that can be easily prepared at home.
