Baadusha

Baadusha is a famous South Indian sweet made with maida and sugar. Baadusha is usually made during festive occasions like Deepavali.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 tbsp Curd
  • Baking soda a pinch
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 cups Maida
  • 50 gm Dalda
  • Salt a pinch
  • 1/ 2 cup Water
  • For syrup:
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/ 4 cup Water
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl add curd, baking soda, sugar and mix it well.
  • Add maida, melted dalda, salt and mix well. Then add water little by little to form a smooth dough. Knead it again for 10 minutes and keep it aside for half an hour.
  • Divide the dough and roll it into lemon sized balls. Gently press on the middle of the balls with your thumb.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry it on medium flame. Flip it to other side and fry until golden brown. Drain it in the paper towel and keep it aside.
  • For preparing syrup, add 1/4 cup of water to sugar in a pan. Heat until syrup forms a single string consistency, Switch off the flame.
  • Place all the fried baadusha into the sugar syrup. Dip well on both sides. Keep it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Baadusha is ready. Serve it with tea or coffee.
