For preparing Banana Flower Cutlet, first remove some of the outer hard purple petals of banana flower till you see the soft petals and flowers. Then finely chop it and rub it with hand by adding little oil (1 or 2 teaspoon) to remove the stain threads in it. Heat little oil in a pan and cook chopped banana flower for 5 minutes by adding little salt, turmeric powder and pepper powder. Remove from fire and keep aside.
Add the mashed potato to the vazhakkoombu mixture and mix it well.
:- You can make the cutlet more tastier by adding little bread crumbs while mixing.
Mix maida with little salt and add water to make a thin batter.
Make balls out of the cutlet mix and shape it into oval shaped cutlets.
Dip the cutlets in maida batter(make sure that the batter is so thin) or beaten egg, coat it with bread crumbs and fry it in oil.

Tips:- You can add boiled moong(Cherupayar) or sprouts / minced chicken or prawns or beef or mutton / scrambled egg / minced soya chunks / crushed paneer / chopped vegetables etc. along with vazhakkoombu to give different version of vazhakkoombu cutlet.
