Banana Skin - Moong Thoran
Tasty and healthy dish made out of moong and raw
banana
skin

Skin of raw
Banana
1/2
cup
Moong
1
cup
Coconut
grated
3
nos
Green chillies
3
pods
Garlic
1/2
tsp
Cumin
2
spring
Curry leaves
1/2
tsp
Turmeric
2
tbsp
Oil
1/2
tsp
Mustard
4
nos
Dry
red chillies
Salt
as reqd
Instructions
Wash and cook moong. :- The moong should be cooked well, but not get mashed.
Drain it and keep it aside.
Chop
banana
skin and wash it in
water
mixed with
turmeric powder
.
Heat
oil
in a pan and splutter
mustard seeds
.
Add
curry leaves
, red chilli, chopped
banana
skin along with little
turmeric powder
and
salt
.
Sprinkle little
water
over it and cover it with a lid and cook till its done.
Grind
coconut
along with
green chillies
,
garlic
, cumin and
turmeric powder
without adding
water
. :- The masala should be of dry consistency.
When the
banana
skin is cooked, add
coconut
masala and cooked moong.
Mix it well and cover it and cook it in a low flame for about 10 minutes.
:- Remove from fire and serve hot with rice.
:- The dish should be dry.
