Vazhapindi /
Banana
stem
finely chopped
1/4
cup
Rice
boiled

Dry red chilies
1
tsp
Turmeric powder
3
tbsp
Coconut oil
1
tbsp
Mustard seeds
1
tbsp
Channa dal
Curry leaves
Few
Salt
As reqd
Instructions
For preparing vazhapindi thoran, first cut vazhapindi into roundels and simultaneously,loop its serum onto your fingers to discard it.
Chop vazhapindi into fine pieces.
Cook vazhapindi along with
turmeric powder
and
salt
. Keep this aside.
Heat kadai pour 2 tbsps of
oil
. Add channa dal and
mustard seeds
. When mustard seeds splutter add two red chilies and
curry leaves
.
Now add the cooked vazhapindi to it. Mix well and keep aside. Let it cool for a while.
Dry roast the rice and the balance
red chillies
.
Dry grind it in a mixer.
Now spread this dry roast powder on to the vazhapindi and one tbsp of
oil
over it.
Mix well and serve.
Vazhapindi thoran, a spicy side dish recipe is ready.
