Instructions
  1. Boil and peel potatoes. Cut them into small cubes.
  2. Grind the grated coconut, dry red chillies, and tamarind pulp to a smooth paste adding a little water.
  3. In a non stick pan heat oil and fry the finely chopped onions till translucent.
  4. Add the ground coconut masala paste, haldi powder, salt and 1cup of water. Let this simmer covered till the oil separates from the masala.
  5. Add the potato cubes and a little more water and mix well.
  6. Cover and keep on a low heat for few minutes till a thick gravy consistency is formed.
  7. Serve hot with roti.
