Beef Thoran Spicy beef dish made with coconut 1/2 kg Beef1 tsp Coriander powder1/2 tsp Chilly powder1/2 tsp Turmeric powder1/4 tsp Pepper powder3 nos Garlic pods1 small Ginger1 small Cinnamon (Karugapatta)2 nos Cloves (Grambu)1 no Cardamom (Elakka)1 small Nutmeg (Jathikka)1 tbsp VinegarSalt (As reqd)1 cup Grated coconut1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeerakam)2 tbsp Oil1 tsp Mustard seeds1/2 cup Onions (chopped)2 tsp Green chillies (chopped)1 tsp Ginger (chopped)Curry leaves (A sprig) Cut meat into small pieces after removing fibres and fat.Grind the coriander, chilli, turmeric, pepper, garlic, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and nutmeg.Mix the masala paste, meat, vinegar and salt and cook till it becomes very soft and the water is all absorbed.Mince the meat in mincer or crush the meat and shred it.Grind cumin seeds and crush coconut.Heat 1/4 cup oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add onions followed by green chillies , ginger, curry leaves, cumin seeds and crushed coconut.Mix the prepared meat and stir until the water is absorbed.
