Bisebelebath

Bisibelabath is a very popular dish in Karnataka. The name Bisi bele bhaath is a phrase, which literally means Hot Lentil Rice, as in Kannada, Bisi means hot, bele means Lentils and bhaath means a dish made of rice. A tasty one.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup Toor dal
  • 1/2 cup Carrot
  • 1/2 cup Beans
  • 1 small Cauliflower chopped into florets
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 2 nos Dry red chilly
  • 2 tsp Bisibele bath powder
  • 2 spoon Oil
  • 1/4 cup Green peas

Instructions
 

  • Pressure cook toor dal, rice, water and salt for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Cook vegetables also.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and splutter mustard seeds.
  • When mustard crackles, add dry red chilly and curry leaves.
  • Add the red chilli powder and bisi bele bath powder.
  • Add cooked vegetables into kadai.
  • Next add cooked rice dal mix.
  • Next mix every thing together. Boil for two minutes.
  • Now bisi bele bath is ready to serve.
