Bottlegourd Curry
An easy bottlegourd (Dhoodhi) curry

Bottle gourd
peeled and cubed

Onion
chopped
1

Tomato
chopped
½
tsp
Cumin seeds
1
tsp
Coriander powder
1
tsp
Chilli powder
Ginger
garlic
paste
½
tsp
Turmeric powder
1
tbsp
Oil
2
full
Kashmiri chilly
Curry leaves
A few
Salt
As reqd
Water
As reqd
Instructions
Peel, wash and cube the bottlegourd.
Heat
oil
in a pan.
Splutter jeera, mustard and
curry leaves
. Stir for few seconds.
Add chopped
onion
and stir and allow it to turn translucent.
Add
ginger
garlic
paste and stir well.
Add
chilli powder
,
turmeric powder
,
salt
, cumin and
coriander powder
and mix well.
Add chopped
tomato
and stir till the tomatoes soften.
Add
bottle gourd
.
Pour 1 - 1 ½ cup
water
and mix all the ingredients well.
Cover with a lid and allow to cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.
