Bread Idli is a simple recipe made with raw bread. Use brown bread to eat healthy. This is quite filling and served with any type of Chutney.This can be served with few ingredients readily available in your kitchen. The curd used in this recipe gives you a great taste and flavor. The bread is powdered to a rava consistency and mixed with rava, curd, salt, baking powder and made into idli. Try this simple recipe today
Cut and remove all four sides of the Bread slices lightly
Crush the Bread slices (with hand) and make them in powder form
Change this bread powder and Rava into a medium size vessel/Bowl. Also add the Curd, Salt and required quantity of Water into this Bread powder and Rava, stir this mix well and make it in the form of Idly batter and keep it aside for about 30 - 40 minutes.About ten minutes before making Idly, add the Baking Soda powder in this batter and stir it well
After about 30 – 40 minutes, apply little oil in the round shaped pits of the idly steamer plates (by using some cotton) and fill the pits with the batter. Cover the idly maker with its cover and cook the idly in medium flame for about 20 minutes. When the Idly is cooked properly, take the steamer plate out and change the idly to a serving plate.
Bread Idly is ready. Serve this Idly hot with Coconut or Onion Chutney/ Chutney powder/Sambar.
