500 g Rice2 nos Onions (finely chopped)4 nos Bay leaves (Karuva ela)4 nos Cardamom (Elakka)4 nos Cloves (Grambu)2 nos Cinnamon (broken into bits, Karugapatta)6-8 nos Pepper corns1 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeerakam)6-8 tbsp OilSalt (As reqd) For preparing brown rice, fry the onions till they turn light brown in colorAdd bay leaves, cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, peppercorns and cumin seeds. Continue frying till the onions turn dark brown.Add the rice along with the salt and stir for a minute.Pour in enough water for the rice to cook.Brown rice is ready.
