Ingredients: 2 cups Red gram (Thuvaraparippu); 1/2 of Cabbage (shredded); 1 no Tomato (diced, small); 1/2 tsp Chilly powder; 1/4 tsp Coriander powder; 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder; 3 nos Garlic pods; 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds; 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeerakam); 2 nos Red chillies (Kollamulaku); Salt (As reqd); 1 tbsp Oil

Ingredients

2 cups Red gram Thuvaraparippu
1/2 of Cabbage shredded
1 no Tomato diced, small
1/2 tsp Chilly powder
1/4 tsp Coriander powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
3 nos Garlic pods
1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
2 nos Red chillies Kollamulaku
Salt As reqd
1 tbsp Oil

Instructions

Take a big vessel enough to be placed inside a pressure cooker.
Wash 2 cups of red gram and put it in the above vessel along with enough water to cook it.
Add cabbage, tomato, chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garlic to the uncooked dal along with salt and 1/2 cup of water.
Place the vessel in the pressure cooker and cook upto 4 - 5 whistles.
Heat oil in a small pan.
Splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds and red chillies.
Pour it into the curry and mix well.
:- Serve with plain white rice.
