  • Cinnamon(Karugapatta) -
  • Cloves(Grambu) -
  • Nutmeg(Jathikka) -
  • Bay Leaf(Vazhana/Karuga ela) -
  • Ginger(Garlic paste -1/2 tbsp) -
  • Onions(long slices) - 1/2 cup
  • Tomato(chopped) - 1/4 cup
  • Capsicum(Julienned) - 1/2 cup
  • Chilly powder - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Oil or Butter -
  • Salt(As reqd) -
  • Coriander leaves (for garnishing) -
  • Cashewnuts - 5 nos
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tbsp

Instructions
  1. Heat oil or butter in a pan.2)Saute the spices except the Bay Leaf.3)Add the onions and ginger-garlic paste and saute.4)Add tomatoes, chilly powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder. Mix well.5)Add the capsicum and mix well.:- Make sure the capsicum is well cooked.6)Add channa and salt along with 1/4 cup of water, so that the channa absorbs all the taste of the curry.7)Place the bay leaf and cook covered for a few minutes.8)Heat a little ghee in a separate pan and fry the cashewnuts.9)When the channa is done, add the cashewnuts, coriander leaves and lemon juice.:- Serve with Appam, Idiyappam or Fried Rice.
