Heat oil or butter in a pan.2)Saute the spices except the Bay Leaf.3)Add the onions and ginger-garlic paste and saute.4)Add tomatoes, chilly powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder. 1/4 cup of water, so that the channa absorbs all the taste of the curry.7)Place the bay leaf and cook covered for a few minutes.8)Heat a little ghee in a separate pan and fry the cashewnuts.9)When the channa is done, add the cashewnuts, coriander leaves and lemon juice.:- Serve with Appam, Idiyappam or Fried Rice.
