  • Lettuce(chopped) - 1 leaf
  • Tomato(finely chopped) - 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida powder(A pinch, kayam) -
  • Curd - 1 cup
  • Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil - 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
  1. Mix together grated carrot, chopped lettuce, chopped tomatoes, lemon juice, curd and sugar. Keep this aside.
  2. For seasoning, heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard sedds and cumin seeds.
  3. Add asafoetida and turn off flame. Stir in red chilly powder and saute.
  4. Pour the seasoning into the salad mixture and mix gently.
  5. Add required salt just before serving carrot raita.
  6. Carrot raita recipe, a nutritional and easy to prepare salad, is ready.
