Chakka Ularthiyath

Chakka ularthiyath is a awesome dish with raw jackfruit.it is a traditional Kerala dish and we can prepare it easily.my mother cooked this often and I learnt the recipe from her.

  • Raw jackfruit - 1 medium
  • Coconut - 2 cup
  • Green chilly - 4
  • garlic - 1 clove
  • Fennel seed - 1 tbsp
  • Red chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Tumericpowder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt -
  • For seasoning: -
  • Curry leaves - 2 string
  • dry red Philly - 5
  • Mustard seed - 1/2
  • Oil - 2 tbsp

Instructions
  1. Take a mixer grinder and add grated coconut,green chilly,fennel seed and garlic.
  2. Grind it for 3 seconds
  3. Cut the jackfruit into small pieces.Take a pressure cooker and add jackfruit,chilly powder,turmeric powder,salt and 1/4 Cup water.
  4. Add ground coconut on the top of the jackfruit,don't mix it.Cook it for 1 whistle.
  5. Mix well the cooked jackfruit.
  6. Heat oil in a vessel and splutter mustard seed.Add curry leaves and fry red chilly.
  7. Add cooked jackfruit and mix well.
  8. Tasty chakka ularthiyath is ready
