Chemmeen-Prawn Varattiyathu
A delecious and mouth watering dish made with
prawns

Coconut
milk

nos
Onion
chopped

nos
Tomato
chopped

Ginger
chopped

tsp
Garlic
chopped

tsp
Mustard seeds
1/4
tsp
Cumin seeds
Jeerakam
1/4
tsp
Fenugreek seeds
Uluva
8-10
leaves
Curry leaves

Red chilly

Pepper powder
Thyme
one pinch

tsp
Turmeric powder
1/4
tsp
Red chilly powder
1/4
tsp
Coriander powder
Coriander leaves
few

Kudampuli
Gamboge
Salt
As reqd
Oil
As reqd
Instructions
Heat
oil
in a pan and splutter
cumin seeds
.
Add
fenugreek seeds
, red chilly,
curry leaves
and fry well.
Add chopped
onion
and fry till light golden brown colour.
Add
ginger
,
garlic
and saute for 1-2 minutes.
Add red chilly powder,
turmeric powder
,
coriander powder
and saute till raw smell goes.
Add chopped onions and saute well till it is cooked.
Add
prawns
and kudampuli into it and saute for 5 minutes.
Mix half a cup of
coconut
milk
with half a cup of
water
and pour into it and add required amount of
salt
.
Simmer and cook for another 20 minutes or till the it is half dry.
Now add the remaining
coconut
milk
and mix well till it it is almost dried.
Add
pepper powder
, hyme, and coriander leaves .
Switch of the flame and mix it well and keep closed.
:- Serve hot!!!
