Cherupayar Curd Curry | Cherupayar Thayir Koottaan

  • Break Cherupayar(Green Gram) slightly and cook it properly in required quantity of water.
  • Take about 3 - 4 Tsp of cooked cheru payar, add green chilli, tamarind (if necessary add some water) and grind them properly.
  • Change this paste into a cooking vessel, add the remaining cooked Cherupayar, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and required quantity of salt and water and cook the mix for about ten minutes.
  • Add some water into the curd, stir it well and add it into the cooked cherupayar along with other ingredients, Stir it well and boil the mix for about 2 - 3minutes. Then put off the stove.
  • Heat oil in a cheenachatti/frying pan, burst mustard seeds, add red chilli pieces and curry leaves. Stir the mix and fry these ingredients properly.
  • Add these fired ingredients into the already prepared Cherupayar Thayir Koottaan.
  • Cherupayar Curd Curry is ready. This Koottaan can be served with cooked Rice/Dosa etc.
