Ingredients

Chick peas
Kabuli kadala
1/4
cup
Coconut
powder
2
tbsp
Roasted gram
2
tsp
Kandankathiri powder
1
tsp
Red
chilli powder
Salt
As reqd
Coriander leaves for garnishing
For seasoning:
Oil
Mustard seeds
Black gram
(Uzhunnuparippu)
Cumin seeds
(Jeerakam)
Asafoetida(Kayam)
Instructions
Soak the chick peas in
water
overnight.
Boil them with the required amount of
salt
. Drain the
water
and keep them aside.
Grind the
coconut
powder, roasted gram, kandankathiri powder, red
chilli powder
together with a pinch of
salt
and some
water
.
Heat small amount of
oil
in the pan.
Splutter the seasoning ingredients.
Add the chick peas and stir well.
Add the ground paste to it and cook for 5 mins.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Note: Kandankathiri is Solanum Xanthocarpum. It is optional. We can use dried
mango powder
or any powder according to our taste.
