Chicken do pyaza is a popular North Indian Chicken curry preparation. As the name implies the curry is spicy at the same time little sweet, creamy and delicious.

Ingredients
Ingredients for marinating the chicken:
  • Chicken - 1/2 kg
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Kashmiri Chilly powder - 2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Chicken Masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • Thick curd - 1/2 cup
  • Salt(to taste) -
Other Ingredients:
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Onion - 2 medium
  • Tomato puree(of two big tomatoes) -
  • Salt(little) -
  • Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • Butter/Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Green chilly thinly sliced - 2 nos
  • Garam masala powder 1/2 tbsp -
  • Kasoori methi crushed - 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - 1 handful
  • Fresh cream - 1 tbsp

Instructions
  1. Mix chicken pieces with the ingredients under marination
  2. Marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, saute onions, green chili until brown in color.
  4. Add tomato puree along with the Marinated chicken and mix well
  5. add the chicken to the gravy
  6. add salt and sugar and 1/4 cup of boiling water; if more gravy is required.
  7. Mix well and cover cooks for about 20 minutes.
  8. add garam masala, fresh cream and kasoori methi, mix well and turn off the flame
  9. now chicken Do pyaza is ready to serve
