Take the cloves, poppy seeds, nutmeg, coriander seeds, ginger piece and garlic bulbs into a grinding bowl and prepare a fine paste. Apply it to the chicken pieces and kepp aside for marination. Fry the cashew nuts in little ghee and set aside.
Put the cooker on the stove, add ghee and heat. Add the onion pieces and onion paste and fry until they turn brown. Add bay leaves, green chillies and turmeric powder and fry.
Add the washed basmati rice and stir fry for five minutes. Now add the marinated chicken pieces and fry until oil separates. Add fried cashew nuts, red chilly powder and four cups of water. Mix well and place the lid and weight on the cooker.
