Mustard seeds

Black jeera

Grambu

Cinnamon
Karugapatta

Elakka

Ginger
thinly sliced

Garlic

Cashew nuts
soaked in
water

Raisins
Onakka munthiri

Tomato
diced

Onion
thinly sliced

As reqd

Oil
Coriander leaves
A bunch
Instructions
Marinate the chicken with some
salt
and
turmeric powder
for 30 mins.
Make a powder of
red chillies
, black pepper,
mustard seeds
, black jeera,
cloves
, cinnamon and
cardamom
.
Mix this masala powder with a little
water
.
Grind the cashews and
raisins
together and set aside.
Heat
oil
in a pan or a kadai.
Saute
onion
, till brown.
Add
garlic
and
ginger
and saute for a min.
Add the masala paste and stir, till the
oil
separates.
Add the diced
tomato
and stir well for 2 mins.
Add the marinated chicken and let the chicken get coated well with the masala.
Add 1 1/2 cups of
water
and
salt
.
Cover and cook on a medium heat, till the chicken is well done.
Add the cashew and
kismis
paste and remove from heat.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
:- Serve with palappam, vellappam or chappathi.
