Chily Cheppa Kizhangu ( Taro Root )

This is my innovative dish with taro root. This is crispy and spice that goes well with boiled rice. It is an Indo Chinese fusion recipe

Ingredients
  

  • Taro root ( cheppa kizhangu ) 250 g
  • capsicum 1/4 cup
  • Curd 2 tsp
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • pepper 1/4 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • sabji masala 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • lime juice 1 tsp
  • maida 1 tsp
  • corn flour 3 tsp
  • rice flour 3 tsp
  • soya sauce 1 tsp
  • tomato sauce 2 tsp
  • oil to fry

Instructions
 

  • purchase the old taro root ( cheppa kizhangu ). and boil in the pressure cooker by adding salt and water and allow for 2 whistles and peel the skin
  • chop into small pieces
  • in bowl add taro root, salt red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, sabji masala, pepper, curd, ginger garlic paste, lime juice, maida, rice flour, corn flour and mix well by adding little water
  • in a pan heat the oil and add taro root ( cheppan kizhangu ) and fry it
  • once it become golden brown and crispy, add chopped capsicum and saute it
  • now add soya sauce and tomato sauce and mix well
  • allow to cook for 10 mins in medium flame
  • chily cheppa kizhangu ( taro root ) is ready
