Chinese Easy Gobi Manchurian

Deep fried cauliflower sauted with veggies. excellent starter for parties.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 no Cauliflower broken to large florets, large
  • 1 no Onion julienned and made into individual leaves, large
  • 2 nos Onion finely chopped, medium
  • 1 no Capsicum diced to 2 inch pieces
  • 1" piece Ginger finely chopped
  • 10 nos Garlic pods finely chopped
  • 2 nos Green chillies thinly chopped
  • 1 tsp Green chillie sauce
  • 1 tsp Red chillie sauce
  • 2 tsp Tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Soya sauce
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • Ajinomoto A pinch
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil As reqd

For frying:-

  • 1 cup Allpurpose flour Maida
  • 1 cup Corn flour
  • Water As reqd
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • For frying the gobi:- 1)Clean the florets and put them in hot water for about half an hour with salt so that worms, if any, would settle at the bottom of the vessel. 2)Mix together the maida, corn flour and salt in a bowl. 3)Pour sufficient amount of water to get a bajji batter consistency. 4)Put the florets in this batter and mix well. 5)Heat oil in a pan. 6)Add the florets little by little and fry them all. 7)Drain them out and keep aside. For making the manchurian:- 1)Heat 1 tsp of oil in a frying pan. 2)Add the chopped onions, chopped green chillies, julienned onions, diced capsicum and chopped ginger and garlic. 3)Saute for 2 minutes so that the onions and capsicum are still crunchy. :- The large onion pieces and the diced capsicum pieces will be very tasty in this dish. 4)Add the red chilly sauce, green chilly sauce, tomato sauce, soya sauce, vinegar, ajinomoto and salt to taste. 5)Saute for a minute. :- If u do not have these sauces, then substitute red chilly sauce, green chilly sauce and tomato sauce with 3 tsp of tomato-chilly sauce. :- Add very little ajinomoto just to get the Chinese flavor, since its a carcinogen. 6)Add the fried cauliflower to this and saute, until the masala and the florets get fried together nicely. 7)Remove from pan to a serving dish. :- Serve hot. Variation:- Can use the same recipe to make mushrooms/baby corn manchurian as well.
