Instructions
  1. For preparing chirotee, sift the maida.
  2. Mix the two table spoons ghee with maida and add water and knead well. The dough should be hard.
  3. Make equal sized small lemon shaped balls.
  4. Roll them into circles of 6 cm diameter to thin rounds.
  5. Brush melted ghee over each circles.
  6. Stack the four rotis one on top of another.
  7. Roll them to a cylindrical shape. Now cut the cylinder to small 2 cm pieces evenly.
  8. Roll these individal pieces to small circles.
  9. In a pan, make a sugar syrup by adding the sugar to equal amount of water and saffron. The syrup should leave a thin trail when you pour with a ladle.
  10. Switch off the fire.
  11. In a pan, heat the ghee and fry the rolled rotis.
  12. Drain and immediately soak them in the sugar syrup
  13. After 5 minutes, arrange them in a serving plate. They can be stored in a container for about a week.
  14. Chirotee is ready.
