Coconut Milk Rice - Nasilemak

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Basmati rice
  • 2 cups Coconut milk
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 no Cardamom Elakka
  • 1 stick Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 2 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 1 no Bay leaf Vazhana ela
  • 1 no Onion Big Onion, Do not cut but poke it with knife all over so the flavor is released
  • 1 piece Ginger 50 grams, Do not cut but poke it with knife all over so the flavor is released
  • 1 tsp Ghee

Instructions
 

  • Heat up a cooker.
  • Add ghee and fry cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and bay leaf.
  • Add water.
  • When water boils, add coconut milk, onion, ginger, rice and required salt.
  • When it gives a boil, close the cooker and remove after 5 mins from stove.
  • After 5 mins, open the lid and carefully remove and dispose the ginger, spices and onion from the rice.
  • Let the rice cool and your coconut milk rice is ready.
  • :- Serve with spicy curry, chicken curry or egg masala.
  • :- Best with dried anchovies sambal, one spicy ommelate and few slices of cucumber.
