Colocasia(Chempu) Special Curry

Colocasia(chembu) pieces are cooked with chilly powder and other ingredient and finally added to ground coconut

  • Remove the skin and cut the chembu into small 1 inch pieces. Wash well.
  • Take a pan and add 2 cups of water. Boil and add chembu pieces.
  • Add chilly powder, turmeric powder and required salt. Cook in low heat until colocasia pieces are done.
  • Meanwhile grind coconut with pepper and garlic. Add ground coconut mixture and curry leaves into the colocasia curry.
  • Heat and remove pan from fire. Do not boil the curry. Add some coconut oil and close the pan with a lid.
  • Colocasia(chembu) special curry is ready. Goes well with rice and chappathy.
