Dahi Sandwich Yummy Dahi/Curd sandwich 8 nos Bread slicesButter to apply on the breads3 cups Plain yoghurt/curd (Thayiru)1/4 tsp Mustard seeds1/4 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeerakam)1 tbsp Oil1/2 cup Coconut (grated)2 nos Green Chilies1 cup Coriander leaves (chopped)Salt (As reqd)1 tsp Lemon juice2 tsp Sugar1 tsp Red Chilly Powder25 gms Tamarind (or 1 tsp Tamarind paste, Puli)25 gms Dates (Eenthapazham)1 tsp Ginger paste Cut the bread slices into nice and fine round shape (can use a steel, sharp rimmed round vessel of 2 inch diameter). Butter on one side of each cut bread.For making the chutney: 1)Grind the grated coconut, green chillies, coriander leaves together.Add salt, lemon juice and a pinch of sugar.Mix it to make a fine paste of consistency enough to apply on bread.For making the curd mixture: 1)Heat oil and add the mustard and cumin seeds to it and remove it from stove after few seconds. Pour the seasoning into the yoghurt. Add sugar and salt to taste.Stir it properly to get a slight sweetish dahi.For making tamarind chutney: 1)Boil the tamarind and the dates. Sift it and squeeze out the paste. Add ginger paste, red chilly powder and salt to taste.For preparing dahi sandwich: 1)Apply a thick layer of coconut chutney on one slice of bread and then put the other buttered slice over it.
