Easy and delicious marble cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups Allpurpose flour Maida
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 2 nos Eggs
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Melted butter
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • Salt A pinch
  • 4 tbsp Milkmaid optional
  • 4 nos Cardamom powdered, Elakka
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp Cocoa powder

Instructions
 

  • Beat the eggs using a hand held electric mixer in a large bowl.
  • :- Use glass bowl for more soft cake.
  • Add sugar, butter, ghee and milk maid and mix at the lowest speed again for a few mins.
  • Mix together maida, baking powder and salt.
  • Add this little by little to the bowl and mix at a medium speed for at least 15 mins.
  • Add essence, lemon juice and cardamom and mix for 1 more min.
  • Take 1/3 of the batter into a separate bowl and add cocoa powder to the batter and mix with a spoon.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degree F (180 degree Celsius).
  • Pour 5 - 6 spoons of the plain batter into a greased baking tray as a layer.
  • Add the 3 - 4 spoons of batter mixed with cocoa powder on the sides and on the top of the layer.
  • Pour the remaining plain batter to the tray.
  • On the top add the rest of the batter mixed with cocoa powder.
  • Move a fork in zig-zag way on the top of the batter.
  • Bake in oven for 40 - 45 mins(or till light brown) at 350 degree F(180 degree Celsius).
  • Prick with a sharp knife and it should come out clean, if done.
  • Cut the marble cake with a sharp knife and serve.
