Sambar Sadam is one of the common main course meal of South India. It is rich in nutrients as it contains lots of vegetables and lentils. Sambar is reflective of a broad and ancient tradition of lentil-based vegetable stews in southern India.
Cook dal and rice together in pressure cooker with required water(6 whistles). Keep this aside.
Take a pan, heat oil and slightly fry onions and pearl onions.
Add sambar powder, turmeric powder, all the veggies, required salt and tomato along with the already cooked rice and dal. Add little water and pressure cook again for 3 whistles.
