Easy To Make Dal A very simple tasty easy to make dal dish with mango and bhindi 1 cup Red gram (Thuvaraparippu)5 - Raw mango (optional)1 tsp Oil1 tsp Mustard seedsGreen gram (A little, Cheruparippu)Black gram (A little, Uzhunnuparippu)2 - Dry red chillies (Kollamulaku)Cumin seeds (A little, Jeerakam)Salt (As reqd)Turmeric powder (A pinch)Chilli powder (As reqd)Dal masala (optional)Lady`s finger(Bhindi/Vendakka) (optional)Lemon juice (optional) Take 1 cup of red gram in a pressure cooker. Wash it twice with water. Drain the water and add twice the amount of water. Add little salt and turmeric powder. Add mango pieces and pressure cook upto 3 whistles. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds.Add cumin seeds, green gram, black gram and red chillies.Add bhindis, if desired at this stage.:- Do not pour any water. Add salt, chilli powder and dal masala(if available).Cover and cook for 10 mins.Once the pressure has gone, open the cooker. Add the dal to the pan. Mix all contents well. Check taste once to see if salt/spice is okay. Cover and leave it to boil. :- Serve with hot rice and papad. :- You can even squeeze a little lemon juice. North Indian
