Instructions
  1. Boil 1 cup of water and add chopped tomatoes and tamarind paste, boil for 2 minutes.
  2. In another vessel add oil and mustard when it splutters add red chilli and curry leaves, Sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Grind garlic, coriander leaves, pepper and cumin seeds in mixer.
  4. Then add this ground mix to the vessel sauté for a minute.
  5. Add 1 cup water to this and boil for 2 minutes. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and asafoetida. Boil for 2 minutes.
  6. Add salt and boil for 2 minutes.
  7. Now rasam is ready to serve with hot rice.
