Egg Vantalu

Egg Vantalu is a famous, easy and a simple side dish with egg in Andhra Pradesh. This is the best accompaniment with the hot boiled rice. This is spicy and tasty. The boiled eggs are cooked in a spice mixed gravy.

  • boil the egg and cut into two pieces
  • finely chop the onion and tomato
  • in a plate take cumin seed, black pepper seed, cinnamom, red chili and coriander seeds
  • dry roast the all the masala
  • make a paste by adding vinegar or lemon juice and water
  • in a pan heat the oil and temper the mustard
  • add curry leaves and chopped onion and saute it until it becomes golden brown
  • add chopped tomato and mix well for 3 minutes.
  • add ginger garlic paste, salt,turmeric powder and garam masala and mix well
  • now add the paste which we prepared and mix well and allow to cook until the raw smell goes out
  • water required water for gravy and allow to cook for 10 minutes in a medium flame
  • mean while prepare coconut paste
  • add the coconut paste into the gravy and allow to cook until the gravy become thick consistency
  • now add boiled egg and turn off the flame
  • now egg vantalu is ready. serve with rice
