Fish Curry With Coconut
A tasty fish curry prepared with ground
coconut
and other ingredients

Coconut

Kunjulli

Green chillies

Ginger
roughly chopped

Curry leaves

tsp
Coriander powder
1
tsp
Chilly powder
1
tsp
Turmeric powder
1
tsp
Cumin seeds
Jeerakam
1
tsp
Fenugreek seeds
Uluva
1
tsp
Mustard seeds
Coconut oil
As reqd
1
cup
Tamarind
water
Instructions
For preparing fish curry with
coconut
, first clean and cut the fish. Wash, drain and keep aside.
Roughly grind shallots,
ginger
and
green chillies
. Keep aside.
Grind
coconut
, 1/4 cup
curry leaves
,
coriander powder
, chilly powder,
turmeric powder
and
cumin seeds
. Keep this aside.
Heat
oil
in mann chatti(clay pot), splutter
mustard seeds
and
fenugreek seeds
. Add the roughly ground shallots and remaining
curry leaves
.
Fry for few minutes. Add the ground
coconut
mixture and saute well.
When the
oil
starts to come out, add fish pieces,
salt
and
tamarind
water
.
Allow the fish to cook.
After the fish is cooked and the gravy becomes thick consistency, remove from flame.
Pour 2 tsp
coconut oil
on top. Cover it with a lid and serve hot after 5 minutes with cooked rice.
