Fish Pathiri Delicious pathiris with stuffed fish masala - Ramzan special For pathiris:½ kg Parboiled rice (soak in lukewarm water for about 3 – 4 hrs)4 – Small onions (Kunjulli)1 no Coconut3 tsp Fennel seeds (Perinjeerakam)4 – Cardamom (Elakka)Salt (As reqd)For fish masala:-4 nos Fish pieces4 nos Onion (finely chopped)1” piece Ginger (finely chopped)2 nos Garlic pods (finely chopped)5 nos Green chillies (finely chopped)Coriander leaves (A little)Mint leaves (A little)Curry leaves (A few)1 tbsp Chilly powder½ tsp Turmeric powder1 tbsp Coriander powder½ tsp Garam masala powderSalt (As reqd)Oil (As reqd) Marinate the fish pieces with turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt.Grind the rice smooth without adding water.Grind together grated coconut, fennel seeds, small onions, powdered cardamoms and salt into a smooth paste.Mix the above two to form a nice dough.Fry the marinated fish pieces, till crisp.Heat a tbsp of oil in a pan or a kadai.Add onions and sautT, till it turns brown.Add green chillies, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves, mint leaves and curry leaves and sautT well.Add all the powders and salt and sautT further.Add the fried fish pieces and mix well.Switch off the flame, when done.Take a plantain leaf and spread a small portion of the dough into the shape of pathiris.Place a fish piece with masala on it.Place another pathiri spread on another plantain leaf on this masala and press well to get it sealed on the edges.Repeat the procedure for the remaining dough and fish masala.Steam them, till done. In fish masala add grated coconutpaste it will be more delicious

THis is a very good recipe. Do add fried coconut paste to the masala.
