Fluffy Kerala Style Rava Upumavu-Upma is a popular breakfast dish all over South India. Prepared from semolina, this is a very enjoyable dish, very nutritious and tasty too. Upumavu or Upma is one of the easiest breakfast dishes that can be prepared when time is short. This is a soothing and comfort dish, very light on your tummy. You can enjoy the dish with any side dish of your choice. Fluffy Kerala Style Rava Upumavu-Upma is unique and special with roasted semolina cooked in boiling water and blended with other spicy ingredients. Roasting rava is one of the most vital points to be remembered otherwise rava tends to stick together. You can save time by opting for roasted rava which is readily available in market. Then add hot water and required salt. Allow to boil well. Add the specific quantity of hot water quoted. Otherwise upma will not come out perfect.
When it starts boiling, lower the flame and add roasted sooji.
Mix well, close the pan and cook for 2 minutes in low flame. Then turn off the flame and keep aside. Do not open the pan and allow to cook for 5 more minutes.
The delicious dish is ready now. You can make the dish more nutritious by adding veggies as per choice. This will increase the nutrition factor of the dish.
