Fried Eggless Crispy Banana Balls are freshly prepared banana fritters carefully slipped into hot boiling oil and deep fried to a golden brown color. These are nostalgic snacks quite popular in certain regions of Kerala. Childhood memories come rushing into my mind. My mother used to prepare Fried Eggless Crispy Banana Balls for evening tea by the time we kids arrive from school. We kids used to fight for it and competing who finish eating first. Mom was relaxed and basically satisfied that we are relishing healthy snacks prepared at home. Mom used to prepare the batter with wheat flour. When mom prepared the snack, eggs were added but the recipe I have given here is the eggless version taking vegetarians into consideration. The eggless version tastes equally amazing and special. I have shallow fried these Banana Balls for less consumption of all oil.

Fried Eggless Crispy Banana Balls are perhaps the easiest of South Indian snacks prepared with very few ingredients. In Kerala, bananas grow in plenty and so this is the most popular snack available. For preparing Banana Balls, you have to keep a few points in mind. Make sure that the batter is not too thick no too thin. It should be of medium drop able consistency. Another important thing is that while frying, flip over only after one side is properly fried. Otherwise there is a tendency for the fritters to break and hot oil would be spilled. Fried Eggless Crispy Banana Balls

Ingredients
  

  • 2  cups Wheat flour / Maida
  • 1/2 cup Semolina
  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 2 nos. Ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 2 pinch Salt
  • Oil For frying

Instructions
 

  • Take a bowl and add ripe bananas, maida and sugar. Mix well with your hand.
  • Then add semolina and mix again.
  • Add the remain ingredients except oil for frying. Mix well and rest for 15 minutes.
  • Heat enough oil in a thick bottomed pan to deep fry the banana balls. Gently drop small portions into the oil and cook until golden brown on all sides. Put on paper towels to drain. Repeat with remaining batter. 
  • Crispy Banana Balls is ready now.
