  • Cut the bitter gourd into thin round slices.
  • Apply salt & turmeric powder and keep aside for 15 - 20 minutes.
  • Squeeze the bitter gourd to extract the bitter juices.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the bitter gourd.
  • Fry well, stirring occasionally, until the bitter gourd crisp.
  • Grind the grated dry coconut, cloves, cumin powder and red chilli powder to a fine powder.
  • Add this powder to the fried bitter gourd.
  • Stir & cook for 2 minutes.
  • Serve hot with chappathis or as a side dish with dal & rice.
