  • Japanese cooked rice - 2 cups
  • :(prepare as per instructions given on packet)) -
  • Sushi powder(sushinoko or use sushi rice seasoning for 3 cups rice) - 1 packet
  • Japanese vinegar - 70 cc
  • Salt(less than 1 tsp) -
  • Sugar - 3 tsp
  • Nori sheets(toasted or toast the nori sheets on naked flame each side) - 2 nos
  • Sushi mat(available at Asian store) - 1 no
  • Shoshoyo(for dipping) -
  • For filling: -
  • Cooked egg strips - 2 or
  • Crab sticks - 4-5 strips
  • Tuna canned(break with fork and mix with mayonnaise) - 1 tin
  • Cucumber - 4-5 strips

Instructions
  1. Put the rice into a small bowl with sushi seasoning and toss well till it is evenly coated and let it cool.
  2. Place 1 Nori sheet on the sushi mat (the longest side near the top and bottom). The rough side should face up, follow the grain. :- See picture 1
  3. Spread the white rice over the nori sheet leaving a 2cm border at the bottom and press down uniformly. :- See picture 2 :- Adjust the quantity of rice, make a thin layer for easy rolling..
  4. Make three equal partitions with divider.
  5. Place the first egg strips on the divided line.
  6. Next place the crab strips on the second divider and cucumber strips on the third divider. :- See picture 3
  7. Fill the empty space between egg and crab with tuna mix.
  8. Begin to roll the sushi. :- See picture 4
  9. Using the mat as a guide, roll the Nori up firmly from the bottom to form a cylindrical shape (like a cigar). :- See picture 5
  10. Squeeze it gently to make it compact. :- See picture 6
  11. Carefully open the sushi mat, leaving the Nori sheet rolled. :- See picture 7
  12. Cut the sushi roll in 1 inch thick slices with a sharp and damp knife (ordinary knife). :- See picture 8
  13. :- Futomaki Sushi is ready!!! :- Serve the Futomaki Sushi with Shoshoyu like shown in picture 9 .
