Gobi Manchurian

  • Cauliflower - 1 no
  • Allpurpose flour(Maida) - 2 cups
  • Corn flour - 1/2 cup
  • Salt(As reqd) -
  • Ginger(finely chopped) - 1" piece
  • Garlic cloves(finely chopped) - 3 nos
  • Green chillies(slit or chopped) - 5 nos
  • Onion(cut into big cubes, big) - 1
  • Capsicum(cut same size as onion, green/red/yellow) - 1 cup
  • Ajinomoto(A pinch, Sodium Glutamate) -
  • Spring onion(chopped) -
  • Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1 cup
  • Oil for deep frying -
  • Soya Sauce - 1/4 cup
  • Chilli sauce – 4 - 5 tbsp
  • Ketchup(optional) -

Instructions
  1. For preparing Gobi Manchurian, mix together maida, corn flour, salt, a few drops of soya sauce and water to form a batter.
  2. :- If you want the dish to be colorful, you can add a pinch of red color in the batter. The batter should not be too thick.
  3. Dip the cauliflower pieces in the batter and deep fry, till golden brown.
  4. Heat 5 tbsp of oil in the same pan used for frying the cauliflower.
  5. Add ginger, green chillies, garlic, ajinomoto, capsicum, spring onion and onion and stir.
  6. :- See to it that the onion and capsicum are not too soft, so that they are crunchy, while eating.
  7. Add the sauces and stir for a minute.
  8. Add the fried cauliflower pieces.
  9. Mix well without breaking the pieces.
  10. Add more of the sauces to Gobi Manchurian, if required.
  11. Garnish Gobi Manchurian with coriander leaves.
  12. :- Soya sauce is salty so see that you don't add too much salt in the batter.
  13. :- Gobi Manchurian is ready.
  14. :- Serve Gobi Manchurian hot with chapathis.

it was very good. i usually do not like manchurian dishes, but my husband does. and i am glad he liked it and i also enjoyed it. To make a little more gravy, i added 1tsp of cornflour to one glass of water to the sauces before adding the fried cauliflower pcs and let it cook for 2 mts and then added the cauliflower and cooked it again for 2 mts more.

Amazing receipe……i did Gobi manchurian for the first time and was scared of the taste….but it came out soo well everyone liked it…and i thought i did more, but it got emptied in no time!!!! Thanks a lot for sharing such a good receipe…
